About Chungcheong Region

The Chungcheong region, which consists of Chungcheongbuk-do and Chungcheongnam-do Provinces, Sejong and Daejeon, covers the mid-western section of South Korea offering convenient transportation and plenty of fun attractions, Sejong is a self-governing city home to major government agencies, while Daejeon is a metropolitan city renowned for its focus on science and education. Chungcheongnam-do features historical remains from the ancient Baekje Kingdom as well as beaches and mudflats, and in Chungcheongbuk-do, the expansive Chungjuho Lake, often referred to as an inland sea, offers captivating scenery with diverse activities.

Chungcheong is made up of two provinces: Chungcheongbuk-do, or North Chungcheong, and Chungcheongnam-do, or South Chungcheong.

Flight

Chungcheong-do has one airport, but traveling by train or bus is a much better way to explore the region. This is because the journey offers breathtaking views of mountains, rivers, and the sea.

Train(KTX)

KTX is Korea’s high-speed rail system, offering fast travel to cities across the country. With smooth connections to local public transportation networks, KTX is often a more convenient option for travelers than domestic flights. There are a total of six KTX stations located in Seoul.

Bus

Since the Chungcheong region is close to Seoul, traveling by bus is a great option. Enjoy the scenic views and charming cities as you pass through Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and into Chungcheong.

Daejeon
