Busan: Korea’s Second Largest City

Busan is Korea’s second-largest city, known for its beautiful beaches and coastal charm. Finished with Seoul? It’s time to explore Busan

About Busan

As the second-largest city in Korea, Busan Metropolitan City is located on the southeastern coast. This vibrant urban center has developed around Busan Port, a major hub for global trade. In addition to its commercial significance, Busan is a favorite destination for both local and international travelers.

During the summer, its beaches are filled with vacationers, and charming beach trains and cable cars offer spectacular ocean views.

The city also boasts traditional markets and is home to the world’s largest department store.

During the Korean War, South Korean forces were pushed south by the North Korean army, making Busan the final stronghold. It became a place where the entire nation—both civilians and the military—gathered for survival. Today, the city still bears traces of that time, offering a glimpse into the lives of war refugees and Korea’s turbulent history.
