Dalseong Park





Among the many parks in Daegu, the oldest and most friendly park with citizens is Dalseong Park.
In Dalseong Park, there is Gwanpungru, the No. 3 cultural assets.
Dalseong Park was fortress of Dalgubal of the Three Han Kingdoms Period.
Japanese troops stationed here during the Sino-Japanese War and later, it was made into a park in the ninth year of King Gojong Period.
Then, in February 1965 Daegu City Office created a new comprehensive park as today.
Although it is well known as a zoo, there are many other things such as grass square, cultural complex, and memorial monuments.

There are 104 mammals of 23 species, 275 birds of 54 species, 300 fish and 15 natural monuments at Dalseong Park.
It is open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and there is no entrance fee.



In addition to the zoo, there are other attractions such as Gwanpungru, Hyangto History Hall, and Monument.
Gwanpungru was the main gate of Gyeongsang Provincial Office.
As Provincial Office was installed in Daegu, the gate was built on the south side of Seonhwadang and was built on top of it, which was Gwanpungru.
The Hyangto History Hall is a place that displays the history of our hometown and cultural heritage.
It opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. and is closed every Monday.
The admission fee is free.
